Welcome to the Young Israel of St. Louis

Young Israel of St. Louis welcomes visitors and new members to our warm and vital shul. Committed to living Torah lives, fostering spiritual growth and supporting Israel, our Orthodox congregation provides daily and Shabbos/Shabbat davening as well as multiple learning opportunities for men, women and our youth. Located in the heart of the St. Louis eruv, Congregation Young Israel welcomes you.

Interested in Membership?

If you are not already a member of our Shul, we invite you to join us. We offer reduced membership dues for new members in their first year of membership. Please contact the Rabbi at 314-727-1880 for an introductory meeting.

Visiting St. Louis?

We strive to live by the principle of hachnassas/t orchim. If you will be visiting the Saint Louis community for business, vacation, or looking to relocate, we invite you to enjoy a wonderful Shabbos/Shabbat at our shul.

Please contact the office at info@youngisrael-stl.org or (314) 727-1880 and we can help arrange hospitality and accomodations.

Archived shiurim:

Since the start of the COVID pandemic, we have been priviliged to hear from a series of speakers from Israel via Zoom. They are archived here:

  • The Young Israel Annual Dinner

Our dinner honoring the Felshers was a great success. The slide shows 2022-2023 Year in Review and about the Felshers can be downloaded (they are very large; we are working on a way to view them without downloading)
  • Rabbi Shulman's Yemei Iyun B'Tanach shiur

Rabbi Shulman participated in the Herzog College Yemei Iyun B'Tanach, and spoke on "Avraham and Iyov: Contemporaries?". The video is available on YouTube.
  • Yom Iyun

On October 29, 2023 we held a Yom Iyun—a day of learning—in memory of those killed on Simchat Torah and as a zechut for all of the hostages and protection for all of the IDF soldiers. We heard from Rabbi Sholom Rosner on "The Avodah of Cheshvan 5784" and from Rabbi Doron Perez on "Acheinu Kol Beit Yisrael".
  • Young Israel History Project

An effort is being made to gather information about the history of Young Israel of St Louis with the goal of creatively sharing it with our past, present, and future membership. Any memories or stories, pictures, memorabilia, etc are welcome. Please contact Betsy Zimbalist or Andy Koshner if you would like to participate.
